♫ ♪ ♫ Weekly Music ♫ ♪ ♫ (Korean) Sept.22nd 2013

Heyyy , back with my weekly music. :)
I'm thinking of actually doing 2 songs a week because I have so many songs that I want to share.
It's gonna take forever to share them all!

I think I'll just do as many songs I want to share.
Sometimes I'll have 1-2 or sometimes I'll have 5-6. : )

LETS START :)

Review) Maybelline Volum'Express Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara

Heyyy
It's been almost a week since my last post :(
I wanted to become a blogger that posted frequently,,,
like 2-3 times a week,,, but its quite hard..
But I Try.

I hope I can upload more posts this week .
I have a few posts ready to upload this week so I'm covered for the week I hope :))

Anywayss, (I feel like I say this every post,,, I always go off topic and never know how to smoothly get back on track. Such an amateur blogger. I hope you understand :))

I'm going to review the new (?) (not sure when this came out but the packaging said its new.. )
Maybelline Volum'Express Falsies Big Eyes Waterproof Mascara

(SUCH A MOUTHFUL)

I bought this at Shoppers Drug Mart just because it was on sale and I wanted to give it a try.
I think it was like $4 something plus tax, equaling to about $5 something

Sorry for the crappy quality,,,
I filmed in shitty lighting and over boarded on trying to adjust the brightness.

I was really caught by the double sided, 2 wand feature.

These are just some features.
Big, thick wand for upper lashes; Thin wand for bottom lashes
Water proof
In the colour 205 - Very Black

I thought the packaging was so cute!
Once you peel open the packaging they have the Maybelline logo.
I totally didn't expect that.

This is the bottle itself.
Theres not much to say about it.
It looks like any other maybelline mascara packaging, except for the fact that its double-sided

I really love the wands!
The upper lash one is really thick and has many bristles,
while the under lash one is really thin and has fewer tiny bristles.

OH  MY  GAWDD..

Do you see the difference it makes on my tiny Asian lashes?
I was surprised by how well it worked!
I've never used the original Falsies mascara so I'm not sure if the formula changed but, I really like this mascara too.

I would most likely do the "Some Mascara" one as my daily makeup.

I didn't take pictures of the water proof ability, but I think it's quite water proof.
I went out in the rain with this mascara and it didn't budge.
And it doesn't leave panda eye dark smudges by the end of the day.

I use this mascara everyday and I really love it!
I'm would totally repurchase this product and recommend it to people who are curious.

Review) Etude House Sun-Prise Cotton Touch Powder Cream

Yet another review!
I'm writing a blog post to procrastinate from doing anthro/psyche/socio homework.
I'm taking the course online and I'ts actually really nice.
I've only been in it for a week but the amount of work is really minimal.
I think we have like 4-5 units and 3-4 assignments in each.
I don't know for sure yet, but I think its gonna be a really chill online semester.
I recommend online courses (that aren't heavy in material) so that you can have a spare in school :)

Back to the blog post.. today I'm going to review the multi-functioning  Etude House Primer.
I bought this quite a while ago, I think back in May?

I actually wanted the Banila co. Primer because it had so much hype in korea and was also featured on
Get It Beauty's weekly rankings (I think its weekly...)
But I just wasn't into paying $18-19 I found online.
So I came across the Etude House Sun-prise and fell for the numerous functions it had to offer.

Also I think the name of the product is so creative :)
"SUN" "PRISE"-- like "SURPRISE" :))

This primer claims to:
 -create a light soft/matte primer/makeup base
-be long lasting
-fill in wrinkles
-cancel redness
-Oil control
-50+ SPF/PA+++
and
-pore filling and care

SO MANY!!
and they're all what an average teenage girl wants!
(except wrinkle care,,,, I dunno what they're trying to imply.
wrinkle care in a teens product? )

The little illust is so cute :)
Reminds me of the Big Comfy Couch glasses.
(ahhh, childhood memories)

50+ SPF/PA+++
Really high SPF

It's packaged in this box.

The actual product is packaged in this metal(?) tube.

The tube itself  is exactly the same as the box, design-wise.

I'm not really a big fan of the metal tube packaging.
I feel like when I'm close to finishing the product it'll be difficult to get all the product out.
I also don't like how the tube changes shape as I use it up.
I prefer the normal plastic tube packaging over this one.

The screw top is such an adorable baby pinkish colour!
So "Etude House" of them :)

I thought it was quite interesting how the tube itself was metal
and the part where the product comes out is plastic.

The cream is purple in colour.
I think that cancels out darkening in the skin and I guess redness because its one of the functions.
I'm not sure if you can see but there are little micro-balls in the cream.
I'm not sure exactly what it does though..
It applies REALLY matte. I love it!

Recommend?
I absolutely recommend this!
I use it everyday and I think it controls oil well and keeps the makeup from melting off your face in the summer. I love the matte, smooth, baby butt texture after I apply this. I don't know what else to say. It's a really nice product and stays true to most of their claims, I'm not entirely sure about the wrinkle function...

I bought this on eBay for around $6 on a bid.
The normal price is about 13000 won in korea or about $13.
I also bought a back-up, but its not the cotton-touch one, its the natural corrector or something...
BUT ITS IN A PLASTIC TUBE THIS TIME!!

If its hard to find the cotton touch version, you can probably find the sun-prise natural corrector.
I heard its equally as good. Theres many korean bloggers saying that the natural corrector is good too.
I don't think the cotton-touch is as popular though, but it's a great product : )

Review) Etude House Dear Darling Tint 04 Vampire Red

Back again :))
Today's review will be about the commonly used etude house tint.
Most people in korea have this tint and is commonly know as the '"국민틴트"
meaning like "national citizen" tint...
pretty much its saying that everyone one uses it,,

Anyways, I was really into dark red "vampire", blood stain-ish tint for a while.
I originally wanted the Ameli Plat lips which retails for 12000 won
but I found it on the Ameli International version for $25,
which I wasn't willing to pay for a tint..

I found out that the Etude House Vampire Red was a good dupe for the Ameli
and wanted to try it out, but it was released as a limited edition in 2012...
I gave up on trying to look for a dark- red tint.
However, in april or may Etude House released the Vampire red
again due to popular demand and added it to their permanent dear darling tint line!!!

Like any Etude House product it's really cute and princess-like
The colour through the glass bottle looks REALLY black.
But don't get scared it's actually not that bad when your blend it out.

I hate when the writing starts to wpie off.
But what can I do! It happens to all my makeup.

The brush is the same as any other lipgloss or tint brush.
Or do you call this a sponge-tip?
No ideaa,, but its just the average lip product applicator.

It really stains well.
I swiped the tint and wiped it right off after taking the picture,
but the tint stained my hand a cherry-red colour!
And it also lasts quite a while.

UGHHH, my lips are too dry..
I should've used a lip scrub before doing this....

I personally really like the gradient lips!

The lipstick I used for the 4th picture is Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti,
its a neon orangy colour.

Recommend?
I would recommend if you are looking for your first tint.
Its a really affordable tint at about 4000 won in korea, and I found it on eBay for $4-something.
If you look for recommendations for korean tints the first thing you'll find is the dear darling tint, along with the innisfree flower water tint (i think), the tonymoly tony tint, and  thefaceshop lovely ME:EX tint.
(Not sure of all the official names,,, )
However, this tint is not the tint for you if you are looking for a natural lip tint.
Its really pigmented and I bought this knowing that it was going to be crazy dark -- because I wanted "vampire" lips.
If you are looking for a natural tint try the etude house fresh cherry or innisfree flower water one.

Texture
I think this tint has a nice gel texture when it is still moist.
But it doesn't stay that way because it dries out in the first few second you apply it.
Not in a bad way but in a tint-stain way.
Because this isn't a gloss it's not going to give you a glossy finish.
The finish is quite dry I find, but I don't really mind because I use my lip butter on top.
I have read about people saying this is a quite drying tint.
But as long as you apply lip balm or any moisturizing I think it's fine.

Pros
-Cheap
-4 colours
-pigmented

Cons
-drying (if you apply on dry lips)
-doesn't last for the whole day
-oh, and I totally forgot to mention that I HATE the taste.
I think its supposed to be grape flavoured because the scent is kinda grape-ish..
BUT, if you accidentally taste the product,,,,, oohhhh , it tastes like grape cough medicine.
LIKE THE REALLY BITTER KIND....

I don't know if it's just me, but I find that this doesn't have a strong staying power.
I would apply it before going to school at like 6:40 (?) a.m. and by lunch time its faded to the point that it doesn't seem like your wearing much tint.
I think it stays for 4-5 hours at most..

Overall I'm not a big fan of this product. I don't hate it,, (except the taste) but also I don't love it.
I'm not really picky about my makeup so I tend to like or be neutral about most products.
This product is a neutral for me.
I want to get the other colours though because I'm over the vampire look , and I feel like the others
would probably taste better :)

Review) TheFaceShop Lovely ME:EX Pastel Cushion Blusher - Peach Cushion

HEYYY :))
Back with another review!
I was really wanting to get a nice peachy blush.
And found this one.
Many people liked it, so I decided to try it as well.

The ME:EX pastel blusher has 5 different shades.
I got the No. 5 Peach cushion, but now that I look at it I really want the No. Coral cushion too!

The packaging is adorable!
If this is their marketing strategy,ITS WORKING PRETTY WELL!
Seeing this in a store would make me not be able to resist buying it.

The cute little puff that comes with it is actually really nice and soft too!

The little ribbon on the puff is to die for!!

LOOOL, I've been using it quite a while lately so the puffs a little dirty.
But, look at how fluffy and pom-pom-ie the puff looks!

The picture doesn't pick up the colour as well but its nice pastel subtle bright peach.

Its really bright --hence "pastel" cushion blusher.
But when you use it on your cheeks it blends nice.

It looks really chalky on the picture but its actually not.
It turns out a nice flushed peach colour on the cheeks.

Recommend?
This product wasn't a OMG!! product but it was ok.
If your looking for a nice light natural blush, this is perfect for you.
But if your looking for a pigmented pop of colour on your face, don't buy this.
Its a nice blush to have in your collection but I wouldn't buy this again after I finish the current one.

Texture
The texture is really silky and soft.
When you apply it on your face it seems really light and chalk-like, but the white cast disappears after 5 seconds or so. Just simply smooth your cheeks to remove the access powder.

I believe this retails for about 5000 -6000 won in Korea.
I think I bought it for a relatively similar price on eBay-- about $5-6.
You can't really go wrong with this product cuz its so affordable and cute!

Overall, this blush is a really nice blush if your wanting a natural flush on your cheeks. I personally tend to like pigmented blushes since I am a fairly darker skinned asian -- most light shades don't show up as much.  But I do like this blush on days I want a natural, clean look. Considering the price and the product it's a all-in-all a good product.

Review) TheFaceShop Faceit Radiance Concealer Dual Veil

Hellooooo:)
Today I will be reviewing my holy grail concealer.
I came across this while researching for a good concealer.

It is the TheFaceShop Face It Radiance Concealer Dual Veil

I was immediately caught by its 1st place title in the concealer category by GetItBeauty.

For those who don't know Get It Beauty is a korean makeup show.
They have specialist guests that teach the audience about beauty.
Everything from nail art to correct shampooing is introduced on this show.
At the end of some episodes they rank highly popular beauty products through a blind test.
The blind test consists of 50 average women who test 5 products in the same category without being told the brand.

This concealer was ranked along with 4 other quite high end products and yet still won first place.
This proves not only expensive products are the best. Products in the $10 range can be as good as products in the $50-$60 range.

Anyways, it was ranked that the face it radiance concealer is better than the Laura mercier, Clinique, Bobby Brown, and Benefit with a fraction of the price.

They have 3 different shades.

I really like the packaging.
It's really sturdy and simple.

I bought the middle shade NB21.

Sorry it's a little blurry.
My focus wasn't working properly -________-;;
(click on the image to enlarge)

The design is really classic and simple.

The liquid end is a glass cylinder so the weight and grip of the concealer is nice too.
It feels like a high-end product.

The cover stick is like a lipstick.

And the liquid has a brush applicator.

To show the coverage I drew 2 lines on my wrist and covered each line.
Top- cover stick
Bottom- liquid

As you can see they have outstanding coverage.

The liquid has much more coverage though.

It seems like the liquid has a dewy finish but when it dries both are completely matte.

I did one more test on my face.
It may not be noticeable but once finished it looks more camouflaged into my skin.

In conclusion I love this product!
It has great coverage, great packaging for an outstanding price.
It retails for about $10.90 in Korea.
I bought it for about $8-9 on eBay.

The texture of both concealers are wonderful.
I have true match concealer that everyone raves about but, this is so much more better.
It's 10 times more creamy and has 10 times more coverage.
I found that the true stay looked really cakey however, this one is really natural and build able!

I can compare the liquid one to the 24 hour stay maybelline (i think,.) liquid concealer and thefaceshop one is way out of its league!
The 24 hour stay defined my dead skin cells and would crease all over the place.
I had to be really careful when applying that one to avoid it creasing.
Thefaceshop liquid part though is so nice. I can't even describe it!,
JUST GET IT AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF!

I would totally recommend it to everyone!
They have a version for oily skin as well.
I totally think this product is worth all the hype and I think it totally deserves the 1st place.
I think I'm going to repurchase this product when I finish it!
